Serving Our Community in Every Season of Life
Shahada — Declaration of Faith
Taking the Shahada — the profession of the Islamic faith — is one of the most profound and beautiful decisions a person can make. At the Islamic Center of Hewitt, we welcome anyone who is drawn to Islam with open hearts, genuine warmth, and full support.
Our Imam and community members are here to guide you through this meaningful step, answer your questions, and help you feel confident and supported as you begin this new chapter. There is no judgment, no pressure — only welcome.
If you are considering embracing Islam or simply have questions about the faith, please reach out:

Zakat — Charitable Giving
Zakat is one of the five pillars of Islam — a spiritual obligation that purifies wealth and supports those in need. The Islamic Center of Hewitt facilitates Zakat collection and distribution to ensure that these sacred funds reach eligible recipients in our community and beyond.
We distribute Zakat to the eight categories specified in the Quran:
- The poor and the needy
- Those employed to collect Zakat
- Those whose hearts are to be reconciled
- Those in bondage
- Those in debt
- In the cause of Allah
- The wayfarer
To make a Zakat contribution or inquire about eligibility for assistance, please contact the center at (254) 300-6205 or visit us in person.
